
Steve is the Co-Founder and Lead Developer at Usable Data Incorporated, a company dedicated to providing innovative analytics engineering, data visualizations, and AI/ML solutions.
Steve has over 25 years of experience in data analytics and continuous improvement and has worked with Toyota Motor Sales USA, Cal Poly Pomona, Brighton, Riverside County Office of Education and Snowflake Computing.
At Snowflake he demonstrated the value of Snowflake to public sector clients, helped modernize their analytics infrastructure, and supported the secure implementation of analytics, Gen AI and ML solutions.
At the Riverside County Office of Education (RCOE), he played a pivotal role in creating a suite of data products that have set new benchmarks in educational data management:
- Needs Assessment Tool (NAT) in 2014 – A precursor to the California School Dashboard that was also distributed by School Services of California.
- Tableau version of the California School Dashboard in 2017 – A reimagined version of the Dashboard data that allowed side-by-side analysis of the sites and student groups.
During his tenure at RCOE, Steve distinguished himself as a leader in data analysis and visualization. In 2019, he was honored with the Milo P. Johnson Award of Distinction, recognizing his continuous pursuit of innovation, improvement, and service expansion.
At Cal Poly Pomona he served as BI Architect where he supported the existing data warehouse and integrated budget and finance data models to analyze spend and ROI of programs and services.
At Toyota Motor Sales he served as a QA Lead where he ensured 100% compliance on a project subject to SOX compliance.
